Outline of Play
1789: The action of the play moves between: The Royal palaces of Windsor and Kew, Parliament at Westminster, and Carlton House, the Prince of Wales’ London Residence.
Nowadays, it would be recognised that the King was suffering from a form of a metabolic disease called Porphyria.
At the time, however, he was considered to be suffering from a form of madness and his erratic behaviour and lack of all forms of control made his position as Head of State precarious. Many people stood ready to take advantage of the situation.
